A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome to Burlington High School!

Here at BHS, our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to serving our students and families within the greater Burlington community, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. 

The Burlington Community School District holds true to its mission of “inspiring and challenging students through diverse opportunities.” We uphold this mission by fostering a safe and engaging learning environment for ALL learners on our campus.

As the largest high school in Southeast Iowa, we offer a wide array of opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. With more than 25 clubs and organizations, a comprehensive fine arts department, and a diverse range of athletic teams, every Grayhound can find avenues for involvement and personal growth. 

Alongside our rigorous core academic curriculum, BHS provides a rich selection of Career and Technical courses and other electives. Our partnership with Southeastern Community College expands options for earning college credits, supplementing those available onsite. We take pride in our efforts to provide each and every student at BHS with the resources and opportunities necessary to realize their full potential.

These skills are a guide for teachers and students in determining projects and areas of focus at various grade levels.
